Donna Hastings was born and reared in Newbern, Tennessee. Hastings attended college at the University of Tennessee at Martin as a non-traditional, older student. Hastings graduated in 1984 with a Business Administration degree with an Accounting concentration. Hastings continued her education and received her Masters degree from the University of Memphis.
Ms. Hastings worked as an instructor at the Newbern Area Vocational School (presently named Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Newbern) from 1984-1986. After successfully passing the Certified Public Accountant exam, Hastings owned/operated an accounting practice for 11 years.
Ms. Hastings entered the manufacturing sector working as the Plant Controller for Martha White Foods and Alumax Engineered Metal Processes in Jackson, Tennessee. In 1997, Alumax closed its doors and Hastings returned as an instructor at the Tennessee Technology Center at Jackson.
In 2008, Ms. Hastings was hired as the Assistant Director at the Tennessee Technology Center at Newbern. In 2013, Ms. Hastings was promoted to the Director of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Newbern.
Ms. Hastings has three wonderful sons, three perfect daughter’s-in-law, and eight precious grandchildren.
